Prayer Request

August 7, 2009

Dear Friends

Could you please pray for my upcoming Evangelistic Concert – that God’s Holy Spirit will bring  especially non christians, and that many of them will make a decision for Christ. (There is a low key alter call at the end where people can respond).

I have distributed posters and brochures to shopping centres , music stores, churches and christian book stores in South Western Sydney.  There will also be a small letter box drop in the Seven Hills area.

So come along on Sat 29 August @7pm and bring your non christian friends and family as well for an evening of uplifting songs.

Here are some verses of encouragement:-

Matthew 10:42 – And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.

Luke 6:38 – Give and it will be given to you. A good measure pressed down, shaken together and running over,  will be poured into your lap.  For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Thanks for your help
God Bless
Bev

Here is an excerpt of the lyrics to Beverley’s song “Greater Love“.

Chorus

Greater love has no one
Greater love has no one

Greater love has no one
That He lay down His life for us

Greater love has no one
Greater love has no one

Greater love has no one
That He lay down His life

Even while we turned away
From His face

Bridge

His body bled for you and me
His hands were nailed into a tree

He prayed for all his enemies
As they tortured him

There is no greater love than this
Such a love should not be missed
By you

See you there.

Song: Child In Your Arms

February 6, 2009

This song is a testimony of how God has brought me through healing and that He has been a loving Heavenly Father to me.  This is a song I wrote many years ago but have come to a greater heart realisation of it after completing the one week “Father Heart Ministries” school.

CHILD IN YOUR ARMS

Chorus
I’m a child in your arms
I’m a child in your arms
Refuge of safety
A place of calm
Where I will always rest secure
Knowing that you are my Father
Keep me close to your heart Lord

Verse 1
You’ve brought me through healing and all through my tears
You have been faithful all of these years
You’ve always held me in the palm of you hand
And by your power now I can stand

Chorus

Verse 2
At times it’s hard to trust you & hard to let go
Of worldly things that toss us to & fro
I know there’s something better when you say no
So give me strength to follow your road.

Chorus

Verse 3
Take me on Lord to fulfil your plan for my life
Hold my hand Father through joy and strife
Your power can open up the door to my dreams
I’ll follow your footsteps your plan so supreme

Chorus

Here are the words to the song:-

HIS POWER

By Beverley

Verse 1

Some days I feel so tired and so weary

Seems like such an effort to go on

My head feels heavy my body feels a burden

Why do I feel so weak for so long?

But I remember the words of the Lord

That were given me many years ago

They remind me of where I stand before Almighty God

And this is such a comfort when I’m low

Chorus

His power is made perfect in my weakness

His power is made perfect when I’m frail

His power is made perfect in my weakness

I can rest in Him ‘cos He is strong

Verse 2

I face a challenge the Lord would have me do

Can I really take this step of faith?

At first I think I don’t have what it takes

The Lord says “that is not the case

because  I will do it through you

Just learn to trust me wait and see

Because you’re the one I’ve chosen to do my will

You’ll do it, you’ll do it all through me “

Chorus

Bridge

Power Almighty Power of God

Power Almighty Lord

Power Almighty Power of God

You can trust in Him

You can rest in Him

Chorus

Song: Run To The Lord

January 18, 2009

I wrote this song to encourage people to   run to our God , especially when life seems very confusing & messy at times.

Run To The Lord

Verse 1
Is life a mess to you
Does your whole life seem dry?
You say it’s like a cliché
And you feel you don’t want to try
Don’t hold back from seeking God
He will give you the answer
Spend some time with Him today
He will be the enhancer of your life

Chorus
Run to the Lord Don’t run away
He wants you to come to Him
Run to the Lord Don’t be afraid
He’s there waiting for you

Verse 2
Are there things you’re afraid to face
Are there things you keep inside?
Confess them to the Lord
In Him you can confide
He will help you overcome
In His strength you will conquer
Take that step of courage
You will find there is so much love in Him

Middle 8
You say you feel unworthy to face the Lord
You feel like God will roar down with chain and sword
Just be brave and be prepared to give your all
He’s there with open arms for you

Chorus

Song: Do Not Fear

January 5, 2009

The following song is one that I adapted from the bible verse in 1 John 4:18.  It states that when we learn about who God is,  when we receive his love and learn to trust in his good character, then we do not need to be fearful of the things we face in life .  This is so, because when we accept Jesus as our Saviour and commit our lives to Him , God promises to  always watch over us.  He will give us His strength to overcome any challenge we face.  We just have to ask Him.

Here are the words of the song:-

DO NOT FEAR

By Adelle Arwen

Verse 1

Are you sad feeling bad

Have you had enough?

All alone things unknown

Times are getting tough

God will comfort you in your pain

So do not be dismayed

Turn to Him and receive

Chorus

Do———–  Do not fear

For God is near

He’ll never leave you

He ———- will wipe away every tear

When we draw near to Him

Verse 2

Comfort is in the Lord

He won’t let you go

Counsellor Father God

His love He will show

Hold on to His promises

Keep His word within your heart

Hold His mighty hand

Chorus

Bridge

God’s perfect love

drives out my fear

His gentle voice I hear

God’s perfect love

drives out my fear

When I look up

When I look up and see His face

Chorus

Verse 3

Focus on Son of God

Put Him first today

He will guide all the time

He will show the way

What a wondrous Lord we have

Who meets our every  need

Turn to Him and receive

Chorus

Memory Verse – Psalm 42:5
Why are you downcast O my soul?  Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him. My Saviour and my God

Elizabeth I

December 30, 2008

I was watching the movie “Elizabeth” with Cate Blanchett the other day and I was reminded of why this is one of my favourite movies.  Firstly I think Cate Blanchett is brilliant in the leading role and I love the way the movie did her make up which looks so much like the image of this historical icon.  The costumes are also totally luschious.  The stunning and breathtaking cinematography is also a great treat as well.

I also love the film score or music used in the background to create the whole drama.   The intricate orchestrations,  haunting melodies often performed by operatic singers as well as authentic choral arrangements help to bring the story to life in a starkly dramatic way.  Apparently one of the composers was David Herschfelder who used to play keyboards in John Farnham’s band.

Parts of the film however are not historically accurate.  For instance I do not believe that  Lord Robert Dudley actually had physical relations with Queen Elizabeth.  This was clearly a modern interpretation to suit 21st Century audiences.

Be that as it may,  it is still a great film which cleverly describes the tension danger and drama surrounding Elizabeth I’s  rise to the throne.
